Options for the Grove Tower Being Discussed

The Paris P.I. recently reported that the Grove Tower Advisory Committee met on Feburary 3rd to continue discussions on the fate of the Grove Tower. A recommendation was made at the meeting naming the City of Paris “a logical candidate” to take over temporary stewardship of the historic former high school campus from the Henry County School System. A number of other options were discussed regarding ownership of the property, such as a non-profit or foundation.

The Save the Grove Tower committee, many of whom attended the meeting, also gave a report stating that the local nonprofit had arranged for a regiional state tourism official to conduct a "listening tour" in early March. Sherri McCarter, West Tennessee division manager for the state Department of Tourist Development has been tasked with initially setting up two events, tentatively set for March 5-6 in Paris.

We appreciate these efforts and hope that they will lead to some meaningful solution to ensure that the tower and original Grove campus is saved. Here is the full article on the Paris P.I. website...
