GROVE SCHOOL FIELD HOUSE
Destroyed by heavy winds
Staff photo by Bill McCutcheon
Picking through the rubble of the Grove School fieldhouse at Barton Field, school personnel and volunteers were hoping to find most of the teams helmets and other equipment. At least three light poles and the scoreboard there also were destroyed by winds and several houses on adjacent Dudley Street suffered heavy damage. |
The Post-Intelligencer's Bill McCutcheon
tells us the winds that destroyed
the Field House have now been upgraded to an F-1 Tornado.
Volunteers and school personnel were wading water at the Grove field house this morning, trying to salvage as much of the football teams equipment as possible. The roof was blown away and most of the west wall and much of the south wall were knocked down. |
