Services to celebrate the life of Floyd Robert (Bob) Sanders of Atlanta, will be Saturday, October 27th, at 11 a.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. in Norcross with his nephew, Rev. Michael Sanders of Trenton, TN, pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church officiating. Rev. Scott Huskins of Canton, GA, pastor of Cherokee Christian Fellowship will give a special presentation of his personal and of others longtime relationships that developed through his career with Reily Foods Co and Purex Corp.

Longtime friend, Charles Emerson will speak about his and Mr. Sanders' friendship. Rev. Tommy Mills, soloist, and Cindy Marshall, pianist and organist, will offer a program of music featuring many of Mr. Sanders' favorite selections.

Active pallbearers will be grandson, Doug Sanders; nephews, Timothy Sanders, J. Dennis Sanders, Michael Sanders, Kevin Lund and Rob Foisy. Honorary pallbearers include Charles Emerson, Rev. Tommy Mills, both of Atlanta; Ron Hoover of SC and Ray Sousa Jr. of MA. Interment will follow immediately at Peachtree Memorial Park. Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 26th, at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m.

Mr. Sanders died Monday, Oct. 22 at the home of beloved nephew Mike and Margaret Sanders in Trenton, TN following a short illness of battling cancer. Michael was his uncle's primary caregiver never leaving his side.

Born July 19, 1929 in St Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Floyd Perkins Sanders and Vera Trevanian Ellis Sanders, Mr. Sanders was raised and attended schools in Paris, TN where, in 1938, at the age of nine he accepted Christ as his Savior at Maplewood Baptist Church.

He had resided in Atlanta for over 50 years pursuing a successful career as a sales executive and consultant, 33 years with Purex Corp. and 23 years with Reily Foods Company. He was a member of Briarcliff Baptist Church and in recent years attended Brookhaven Baptist Church.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Bernice Darnell Sanders, a son, John Sanders and daughter, Linda Joyce Sanders of Atlanta; two brothers, Charles A. Sanders of Humboldt, Dennis Sanders of Hendersonville; two sisters, Yvonne Wallace and Wanda Candela, both of Lebanon, TN.

Survivors include a grandson and granddaughters, Doug Sanders, Lauren Sanders and Elizabeth Lund, all of Apex, NC; a sister, Norma S. Bixler of Mt. Juliet, TN; nephews, Mike Sanders of Trenton, TN, Timothy Sanders of Arlington, TN., Stetson Rawlings and Douglas Wallace, both of Lebanon, J. Dennis Sanders of Hendersonville, TN; nieces, Leah Anne Stanley of Humboldt, TN, Lisa Heckman and Cindy Fox, both of Lebanon, TN; a very special aunt, Violet Sanders of Paris, TN, other aunts, numerous cousins and a host of friends.

He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends for the joy he brought to their lives." His vivacious personality denoted him as a genuine "people person". The twinkle in his eyes, his little wink and broad smile drew you into his persona. He was affectionately called "Uncle Bobby" or simply "Bobby" by those who loved him most.
