Robert Earl ‘Burly’ Odom

Henry County native Robert Earl ‘Burly’ Odom, 70, of Corbin, Kentucky, died there on June 22, 2002. The body was cremated.

A memorial service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ridgeway Funeral Home.

Charles Orr will officiate and the ashes will be interred at Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation is set after 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Born in Paris, he was the son of Nolie Ezra Odom and Keren Spaulding Odom, both deceased. His wife, Mary Ann Gaylor Odom, survives.

Odom was a graduate of Grove High School, Class of 1949 and Murray State University. A family member said he retired about ten years ago because of ill health.

In addition to his wife, he leaves a son: Robert Gaylor (Mary) Odom of Powell; and two grandchildren: Bailey and Elijah Odom, both of Powell.

He also was preceded in death by a daughter: Jill Cate; and two sisters: Verne Haywood and Peggy Hunter.
