June Valentine Mundis Obituary |
Mrs. Bruce (June) Mundis Funeral Services for Mrs. Bruce Mundis, the former June Valentine, are planned Sunday at 2:00 pm at Ridgeway Morticians. The Rev. Carroll Owen will officiate, and burial will be in Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10:00 am Saturday. Pallbearers will be Gene Phifer, W. A. Jackson, Billy Culley, Ted Jenkins, Perry Valentine and Jim Mckee. Mrs. Mundis, 39, died Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in Brooks Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, after a short illness. She had been air lifted to the hospital there from a hospital in Germany this week. She and her family had been living in Vincenza, Italy, where her husband was stationed with the Army. The daughter of Robert and Mattie Shankle Valentine of Porter Court, the former Bobbie June Valentine was born June 21, 1937, in Henry County. She was graduated in 1955 from Grove High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was employed several years with Delta Air Lines, also the Fugazy Travel Bureau and for Jim McKee Supply Company, here. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Mundis was active in the Officers Auxiliary Club. On June 26, 1958, she married George Bruce Mundis, who survives. She also leaves two daughters, Michelle and Susan Mundis, and two sons, Michael and Bobby Mundis, all at home; a sister, Mrs. Sue Galbraith of Orlando, Florida; and a brother, Gary Valentine of Temple, Texas. |
