The funeral service for longtime
teacher’s aide Phyliss Taliaferro Lamb of Paris will be at 10 a.m. Saturday
at McEvoy Funeral Home. Trisha Trull, pastor of Buchanan United Methodist Church, and Larry Simmons of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery. Chosen as pallbearers are Bubba Sparks, Butch Lamb, Randy Wade, Gary Cardona and Rex and Tony Nance. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny Akers, Mark Hendrix, Gary Garner and William V. Wade. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today. Lamb, 67, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. She was married on April 22, 1961, to Clayton Lamb, who survives. Born Sept. 9, 1942, in Knoxville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Ruby Taliaferro Sr. Lamb worked as a teacher’s aide in the Henry County School System for 37 years. She was a high school graduate, active member of Buchanan United Methodist Church and according to a family member an avid fisherman. She also leaves a daughter, Cindy (Randy) Wade of Buchanan; two sisters, Nancy Hopkins and Diane (Van) Ball, both of Paris; one brother, Joseph Benny (Pat) Taliaferro of Alabama; and one grandchild, Mark Randall Hendrix of Buchanan. She also was preceded in death by two daughters: Amanda Lee Lamb in infancy and Clatty Ann Lamb Curd on Feb. 28, 1995 |
