Paris native Joan Maxedon Huff, 83,
of Brentwood died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014, at her residence. A celebration of life service is planned at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brentwood United Methodist Church, where she was a member and it's Robert Moore Sunday school class. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. at the church. A private burial is planned in Maplewood Cemetery here. Born Oct. 27, 1930, she was a daughter of the late William Herbert and Mae Maxwell Maxedon. She was married in 1950 to Robert “Bob” Huff, who preceded her in death. A family member said she considered the town where she lived as her favorite place and found joy in each day of her life. She and her husband moved often because of his career. She enjoyed love of family, her church, gardening, golf, reading and bridge. She leaves a daughter: Sheryl Huff (Mike) Davis of Thompson’s Station; two grandchildren: Eric Huff (Laura) Davis and Klaire Maxwell Davis; and a great-grandson; Benjamin Huff Davis; sister Janice Mann; and several nieces and nephews. Another sister, Margaret MacDonald, preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the hospice of the donor’s choice or Brentwood United Methodist Church youth music fund, 309 Franklin Road, Brentwood, Tennessee 37027. |
