The funeral for retired school teacher Rebecca Ann Gregson Brewer of Mansfield will be at 11 a.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
The Rev. Jimmy Allison of Mansfield Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are M.F. Cannon, Billy Bowden, Don Norwood, J.W. Carter, Kyle Norwood and Grant Norwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Benji Gregson, Jason Dotson, Daniel Watkins and Jay Watkins.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Friday.
Brewer, 70, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at Paris Healthcare Center.
Born in Henry County on July 18, 1938, she was the daughter of Quincie Porter Gregson, who died May 15, 2008, and Rebecca Lonnie Bomar Gregson, who died April 8, 1991. Her father was a Baptist minister.
She was married on Aug. 12, 1968, to Cecil Newt Brewer, who died June 12, 1999. He also was a Baptist minister.
She was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and worked as a bookkeeper at Holley carburetor plant. She taught school for six years in Hillsboro, Mo. She retired for health reasons after teaching 27 years in the Paris Special School District.
She earned her bachelorís degree from Murray State College and held a masterís degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin.
She leaves a brother: Larry (Deneicia) Gregson of Paris; a niece: Angie (Jason) Dotson of Murray; a nephew: Benji Gregson of Paris; a great-niece: Emma Grace Dotson of Murray; and two step-nephews: Daniel Watkins of Murfreesboro and Jay Watkins of Paris.
