employee and former Paris resident Rachel Morris Shelton, 98, of Memphis
died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Miramar, Fla. A graveside service was planned at 11:30 a.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis. No visitation was planned. Born Sept. 28, 1914, in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late William Walter and Elsie Barnett Morris. She was the widow of Howard Shelton. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are three sons: Billy and Jerry Shelton, both of Tennessee, and Don Shelton of Florida; three sisters: Willie Mae Lampkins, Laverne (Hulon) Hopkins and Kathleen Coley, all of Paris; a sister-in-law: Earline Morris of Paris; one brother: Dempsey Morris of Dearborn, Mich.; five grandchildren; and several local nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by a brother: Charles Wendell Morris on March 15, 2010. |
