Leon Henderson Obituary

A graveside service for former high
school agriculture teacher and self-employed farmer Leon Henderson of Paris
will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Hillcrest Cemetery. Craig Peevyhouse will
officiate. A celebration of life service will follow at Birds Creek Baptist Church at Whitlock. Henderson, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Henry County, he was the son of the late Shoney and Anna Margaret Myrick Henderson. Henderson earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and held a master’s degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He taught agriculture at both Grove and Henry County High schools. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Maxine Pranger. Memorials may be made to Birds Creek Baptist Church, 2245 Whitlock Road, Paris. |
