Funeral service for Kay Wimberley will be at 2:00 p.m.,  Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Point Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Dukes officiating, burial will follow at Memorial Cemetery. Kay passed away January 7, 2015.

Family members will serve as pallbearers, nursery workers of Point Pleasant Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday at McEvoy Funeral Home, after 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Point Pleasant Baptist Church.

She was born January 10, 1948,  in Henry County to the late David Milburn and Myra Ruth Smith Wimberley.

Survived by a daughter: Amanda Lauritzen, Henry; sisters: Vera Wimberley, Paris, Mary Jo (Carl) Glenn, Jackson; brothers: Danny (Deborah) Wimberley, Jackson, Jim (Kathy) Wimberley, Eminence, KY; grandchildren: Chanceton Wimberley, Kathryne Lauritzen; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded by a nephew: David Wimberley.

Kay was a long time member of Point Pleasant Baptist Church where she was active as a nursery school teacher. She taught school in the Paris Special School District for over 37 years. A close family member said that Kay requested anyone attending her service to wear something red.
