Henry County native Muriel C. Williams, 84, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at her home in The Plains, Ohio. She was a longtime resident of Athens, Ohio, and Princeton, W.Va.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Rest Haven Memorial Park mausoleum in Princeton.

Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home in Athens is in charge.

Born March 12, 1927, in Paris, she was a daughter of the late Dewey G. and Lillie Pierce Clary.

Her husband, Edward Williams, preceded her in death.

She retired after 37 years as an elementary school teacher in Mercer County, W.Va., schools. She served for many years as a volunteer at Princeton Community Hospital and was an avid reader.

She leaves three daughters: Cheryl Williams and husband James Davidson of Arlington, Va., Vicki (Jared) Butcher of Athens and Debra (Dave) Herter of Princeton; one sister: Dell Keepers of Columbia, Mo.; two granddaughters; and four great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a sister: Marjorie Herndon.
