Dan Brite Veazey, Sr., 63. of Glenhaven Road, Paris, died of cancer about 10:20 a.m. Friday, March 17, 1995, at Henry County Medical Center.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Sunday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Clarence Hare, Jr., Paul Veazey and Charles Orr officiating. Burial was in Walker Cemetery.

Named as pall bearers were Duke and Sam Veazey; Steve Hooper; Terry, Tommy, Michael and Jimmy Turner and Christopher, Doug and Stuart Vincent.

Visitation was Saturday and Sunday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Born August 25, 1931, in Henry County, he's the son of Nettie Ross Veazey and the late Don D. Veazey, who died in 1987. On June 25, 1952, he married the former Viann Vincent, who survives.

A graduate of Murray State University, he retired in February 1994 as a traffic manager with H. C. Spinks Clay Company after 42 years. Veazey was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher, administrative board member and for a long time was in charge for scheduling ushers to serve during worship services.

Other survivors include three daughters; Mrs. Tommy (Debi) Wimberley and Mrs. Charlie (Natalie) Norwood, both of Paris and Mrs. William (Vickie) Morris of New Haven, Conn; two sons, Dan B. Veazey, Jr. and wife Minette of Paris, and John Veazey of Atlanta; and five Grandchildren, Brian, Beth, and Brandon Wimberly and Ross and Danielle Norwood.

He also leaves two sisters, Judy Hooper of Paris and Donna Turner of Camden; a brother, Carl Ross Veazey of Paris anf his mother-in-law, Mrs. James H.(Gertrude) Vincent of Paris.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church
