|The funeral service for retired
Holley carburetor plant employee and homemaker Earline Capps Morris of Paris
will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Rex Buford of Como Church of Christ, Gary S. Collier of Paris and Ed Howard from Sparks Street Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery.
Named as pallbearers are her sons, grandsons, and her son-in-law, William S. “Bubba” Sparks of Cottage Grove.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews: Greg Gooch, Mike and Mark Coley, Charles and David Lampkins, Billy, Jerry and Don Shelton, Randy Morris, Steve Hopkins and Don Davis.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday.
Morris, 82, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Henry County Healthcare Center.
Born Oct. 7, 1930, in Greenfield, she was a daughter of the late Loren Lafayette “Bill” and Euna Mae Jenkins Capps.
She was married on March 15, 1952, to Charles Wendell Morris, who died March 15, 2010.
Morris was a member of Como Church of Christ. She graduated from Grove High School in 1949.
She leaves one daughter: Angela Clayton Sparks of Cottage Grove; three sons: Gary D. (Nancy) Morris of Paris, Glenn (Teresa) Morris of Bartlett, and Robert (Lovell) King of Denver; a special niece and caregiver: Betty Joyce Stephenson of Paris; a sister: Merle (Billy) Gooch of Paris; three sisters-in-law: Willie Mae Lampkins, Laverne (Hulon) Hopkins and Kathleen Coley, all of Paris; a brother-in-law: Dempsey Morris of Dearborn, Mich.;
Eight grandchildren: Chris (Ashley) Morris, Nick (Meredith) Morris, Josh Morris and fiancee Loren Archer, Amanda Morris and fiancé Juan Alvarado, Lindsay Morris and Jenny (Jon) Thomas, Jeremy (Jane) King, and Travis Sparks;
Seven great-grandchildren: Jackson, Olivia and Sam Morris, Jordan, Kyle and Samantha King and Cooper Thomas; and several other nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Rachel Shelton; a daughter-in-law: Judy Marie Snider Morris; a son-in-law: William Larry Clayton; and a niece: Cheryl Coley.
