Charles Rex Latimer, 76, of Paris died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Henry County Medical Center.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McEvoy Funeral Home.

Gary Collier will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Concord Cemetery in Humphreys County.

Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Latimer was born Sept. 10, 1933. He was a son of the late C.A. and Pearl Grice Latimer.

Latimer was a Grove High School graduate and attended the University of Memphis. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and member of the Elks Lodge, where he was former exalted ruler. He was a believer in God and follower of Christ.

He leaves one daughter: Teena Marie Hamilton of Gallatin; five sons: James Aden (Judy) Hamilton of Paris, Garry (Wendy) Latimer of Brentwood, Steven L. (JoAnn) Latimer of Plano, Texas, and Gregory L. and Rodney Keith Latimer, both of Nashville;

Two sisters: Patsy (Terry) Oliver of Paris and Dorothy Gill of Memphis; one brother: J.B. (Maxine) Latimer of Paris; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and special friends: Virginia and Hobie Paris, Marie and Steve Presson, Wesley Harding, John Michael Brown and Charles Bailey Brown.

He also was preceded in death by a son: William M. Hamilton; and a brother: Tillman Latimer.

Memorials may be made to the Paris-Henry County Jaycees, Attn: Christmas Shopping Tour, P.O. Box 867, Paris, or the Paris Elks Lodge, P.O. Box 816, Paris.
