Obituary

 

Clara "Gay" Hill Keele, 65, of Tullahoma (formerly of Henry County) died Saturday, November 22 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be at the Dave Culbertson Funeral Home Chapel in Tullahoma at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 26 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cememtery in Paris. There will be no visitation prior to the graveside service.

Mrs. Keele was born on August 15, 1943 in Henry County to Clarence Jackson Hill and Jessie Lou Glover Hill, both who preceded her in death. Her husband, Lacy DeBerry Keele and a son, Clarence "Jay" Keele, also preceded her in death.

She was raised in Henry County and was a former Home Economics teacher with the public school system in Tullahoma and had worked as an inspector for the USDA. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. She was an avid gardener and restored antique furniture.

She is survived by: a daughter, Roxanne Dee Keele of Jacksonville, FL; a son, Randall Glayde Keele of Nashville; two sisters, Jacqueline Hill Anderson of Liberty, TN and Patsy Hill Burdette of Knoxville; two brothers, Charles G. Hill of Hixson and Clarence C. Hill of Knoxville and several nieces and nephews.
