Retired Paris Parks Superintendent Aubrey Hunt, 84, died Wednesday, December 17 at his home in Paris.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 at McEvoy Funeral home. The funeral will be held at 11 Saturday at the funeral home. Bro. Barry Hart and Bro. Richard Dakin will officiate. Burial will follow in Walker Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be his three grandsons; Ryan Swor, Jacob Hunt, and Mark Thomas Hunt, along with Tommy Swor, Larry Pettenger, and Mark Largent.

Hunt was born November 14, 1930, in Henry County to the late Aubrey J. and Kate Mobley Hunt. He was married to his beloved Dorothy Key Hunt on March 2, 1952, who survives.

Hunt was a member of the Paris Church of the Nazarene where he served as a board member and Sunday school teacher.

He worked for the City of Paris for 38 years and after retiring served on the Paris City Parks Board for 9 years. He also served 12 years in the Tennessee National Guard.

Hunt coached Biddy Basketball and Little League Baseball for 20 years (1952-1972). In 1996 he was recognized for his work with the youth of  Henry County by receiving the first “Distinguished Service Award” by the Paris-Henry County Sports Hall Of Fame. His love of and interest in Henry County High School Baseball and Football continued until his death.

He is survived by a daughter: Jan (Tommy) Swor of Springville; and 2 sons: Jerry (Vicky) Hunt of Cottage Grove, and Mark Hunt of Ft. Worth, Tx. Three grandsons: Ryan Swor of Huntsville, AL., Jacob (Kacey) Hunt of Clovis, CA, and Mark Thomas Hunt of Jackson, TN. Two Great Grandsons: Ian and Nolan Hunt of Clovis, CA.

The family has requested memorials be made to the Henry County Medical Center Hospice, 311 East Wood Street, Paris, TN 38242.
