HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE
JOHN HOOPER, 69, DIES

Former Haywood High School  football coach,  John Hooper died Saturday.

He was 69.

Hooper will be inducted posthumously into the Jackson-Madison County Sports
Hall of Fame at 6:30 p.m. Monday.

He is survived by his former wife Velva, his brother Joe and  two sons David and Trell.

Hooper coached for 31 years compiling a 218-100-3 record.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Brownsville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to charity.

FOOTBALL COACH

Brownsville - John B. Hooper, 69, football coach died at his residence. His remains
will be cremated.

He is survived by his former wife, Velva Hooper of Brownsville; two sons,
David Hooper of Jacksonville, Florida, and Trell Hooper of Memphis, a brother,
Joe Hooper of St, Louis; and two sisters, Ethel Lou Hall and Mary Nell Wimberly,
both of Paris.
