Henderson, 83, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Born Oct. 8, 1928, in Henry County, he was the son of the late Shoney and Anna Margaret Myrick Henderson.
Henderson earned a bachelorís degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and held a masterís degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He taught agriculture at both Grove and Henry County High schools.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Maxine Pranger.
Memorials may be made to Birds Creek Baptist Church, 2245 Whitlock Road, Paris.
