|The funeral service for Paris
native and retired University of Tennessee at Martin professor Maurice
Houston Field of Martin will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United
Methodist Church in Martin, where he was a member. Burial will follow in
East Side Cemetery in Martin.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today at Murphy Funeral Home in Martin and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Field, 73, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at Volunteer Hospital in Martin.
His wife, Carla Wilson Field, survives. Locally, he leaves a sister: Patty Woodward of Paris.
Born April 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Maurice Elmer Field and Louise Merrick Field. He was the stepson of the late Bertie Arnett Field.
He also leaves one son: Maurice Edward (Bartola) Field of Belize; one daughter: Alicia (Tony) Pinto of Martin; and four grandchildren: Christopher Pinto, Karyme and Julissa Cunil and Maurice Sebastian Field.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Martin or the Maurice Houston Field Science Scholarship Endowment.
