|The funeral service for former
Paris resident Jean Brisendine Coltharp of Memphis was conducted at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at Canale Funeral Directors in Memphis. Scott Pricer officiated.
Burial followed in Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis.
Coltharp, 89, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis after suffering an aneurysm.
Locally, she leaves a cousin, Charlie (Fran) Brown of Paris.
A daughter of the late Mark and Maurine Brisendine, she was born March 30, 1922. She was raised in Paris and graduated from Grove High School in 1940.
She moved to Memphis after marrying John M. “Jack” Coltharp of Amory, Miss., who is now deceased.
Coltharp worked for E.H. Crump Co., later Sedgwick, for 34 years. She was an elder and choir member at Central Christian Church in Memphis and had served as the church financial secretary for several years.
She also leaves a son: Mark Alan Coltharp of Seattle; a sister: Patricia Brisendine Hammond of Memphis; a grandson: John Alan (Maria) Coltharp of California; two nieces: Rachel Hammond (Harry) Greer of Memphis and Patricia (Carmen) Restivo of Las Vegas; two great-nieces: Haley Stephenson of Memphis and Lisa (Jeff) Reich of Chicago; and a great-nephew: Nick Restivo of Las Vegas.
Another son, Glen Cameron Coltharp, also preceded her in death.
